Raffles' Landing Site

This spot is denoted by a statue of Sir Stamford Raffles, and is located on the north bank of the Singapore River. The site is located within the Civic District, in the Downtown Core of the Central Area, Singapore's central business district.

Sir Thomas Stamford Bingley Raffles (July 6th 1781 – July 5th 1826) was known as the 'founder' of Singapore and this statue marks the spot where it is believed he first set foot on the island.
