Shop review If you are serious about running or you are a tri-athlete, this is the shop to check out. They take a very holistic view on the sport and carry products you truly need. Although it is a little out of the way, you will find the trip there worthwhile. The person I met there was Eddie Chang. He really loves his business and will go into the finer details of helping you max your performance. You will be taken care of from head to toe. From the right apparel to the right shoes, to even professional nutritional supplements. (And we're talking about real good stuff, not the common vitamins you easily find off the shelf)
2nd April 2008 Eddie has sponsored me a pair of Pearl iZumi running shoes and I'm going to put them to the test. I have low arched feet that are problematic when I run or jog. I've been wearing them for a couple of hours now, just walking around. The first impressions is that they really "hug" your feet. I think it has something to do with the seamless design of this brand of shoes. I will update more once I put the shoe through it's paces.

I spent an entire day wearing the shoes and walking around. I would describe them as "smooth". Regular running shoes are made of many strips and segments sewn together and after long hours, I can feel the different sections rubbing against my feet. This is especially so since I usually wear 3 for $10 cheapo socks that don't provide much cushioning. The inside of these shoes don't feel like regular running shoes. It's like wearing one big sock.

I went for a jog on the track around the circumference of Chinese Gardens today. My feel is that they are really comfortable shoes. I can't comment on the performance aspect of the shoes as firstly, I am not a professional runner and secondly, I am leaning to the side of being chubby and I guess any supposed performance gains might not be felt by me when I run.
These are very comfortable shoes. I think that is the most important thing to me. The model Eddie gave me has the right support for my needs. I would recommend you give this brand a try. Remember to ask them for a recommendation and they will surely guide you. Don't buy running shoes just because they look nice on you. I made that exact mistake the last time and bought a model that had too much cushioning to match my body weight and foot condition.
