The promenade is planned as a two-tier promenade comprising a granite-paved upper-level promenade and a lower-level timber boardwalk. The upper level promenade includes lushly landscaped shady areas and paved areas for people to stroll or jog, as well as for the staging of events. The lower boardwalk is a timber platform that allows the visitors to get close to the water. There are tiered seats and steps for the public to sit around and watch activities in the Bay, and docking berths for water taxis and private boats to berth. The boardwalk is extended seamlessly to the Marina Bay Sands.
